Cornish in SchoolsMore schools than ever are choosing to teachCornish.
Many pre-school and playgroups, a bilingual nursery and anincreasing number of primary and secondary schools now offerchildren the opportunity to learn Cornish. Classes on offer vary from introducing the basics to an assessedlevel in accordance with a nationally accredited scheme. As well asdelivering sessions, MAGA is helping build the capacity of schoolsto deliver more learning opportunities than ever before. Thisinvolves helping train school teachers to both embed Cornish in dayto day activities and deliver stand alone sessions themselves.Additionally, we are working with a nationally recognisedgovernment agency to train community educators to work with schoolsand provide services across a range of abilities and interest. In terms of resources, in addition to existing material, basicdigital starter packs are now available from Maga free of chargeand there is an online resource site called Skol-Net Kernow whereteachers can download a whole range of teaching resources forfree. Information of direct relevance to schools will be found in thisarea of the site as well as information on projects and workunderway. | ||
