Christmas resource packMAGA has sent a free Cornish ChristmasResource Pack to all schools in the Duchy this Christmas,containing a host of ideas for Cornish themed activities for thefestive season. The pack follows on from the Pirantide Resource Pack that wasproduced to help schools celebrate Cornwall’s patron saint, StPiran, in March. Like the Pirantide Resource Pack, theChristmas Pack contains a range of cross-curricular resourcesincluding: Resaytyow – recipes for tasty Christmas treats; Kanow – a selection of Christmas songs with their lyrics in bothCornish and English; Donsyow – traditional Cornish dances for the festive season; Gwari Nadelik – a bilingual script for a Nativity play; Kartennow Nadelik – ideas for making and writing Christmas cardsusing a bit of Cornish. As well as handouts that can be photocopied, the pack alsocontains a CD. The CD features the music to accompany theCornish dances, and audio files of the Cornish vocabulary in eachof the units to give teachers a head start with pronunciation. A free copy of the pack has been sent to every school inCornwall, and copies of the pack can also be purchased from theMAGA office for the price of £4.95. |
